Pope Francis Donated His Salary

Pope Francis declined the €30,000 monthly salary offered to the leader of the Catholic Church. The payment would have totaled roughly €360,000 a year, or about $405,600 at the exchange rate cited in 2025. Instead, Francis directed the Vatican to donate the money to people in need, continuing the modest lifestyle he had maintained during his decades as a Jesuit.
