Blame Canada's Gasping Oscar Performance

The South Park song "Blame Canada" received a Best Original Song nomination at the 72nd Academy Awards, creating controversy because nominees traditionally perform their songs during the broadcast. The FCC prohibited its use of the word "fu*k" on prime-time television, so American comedian Robin Williams performed it while the chorus gasped in place of the profanity. The song ultimately lost to British musician Phil Collins's "You'll Be in My Heart" from Tarzan.
