Isaac Hayes' Disputed Chef Resignation

American singer and actor Isaac Hayes, who voiced Chef, did not personally quit South Park, according to his son, Isaac Hayes III. After Hayes suffered a stroke and lost his ability to speak in January 2006, Parker and Stone received a resignation statement and initially believed he had chosen to leave the show. Hayes III later said his father's Scientologist assistants controlled his affairs and that one of them apparently resigned from the show on his behalf, possibly without Hayes' knowledge.
