Rush Hour 2 Counterfeit Crackdown

While filming a casino explosion for Rush Hour 2 (2001) at the Desert Inn in Las Vegas, the crew released hundreds of thousands of prop bills into the air. Extras and passersby collected some of the money and tried to spend it in stores along the Strip, prompting the Secret Service to confiscate more than $100 million in fake currency. Agents accused supplier Independent Studio Services of counterfeiting, ordered it to stop producing the realistic bills, and eventually destroyed nearly $200 million of its prop-money inventory.
