Poltergeist Clown Nearly Choked Robins

During the filming of Poltergeist (1982), the mechanical clown doll tightened too firmly around child actor Oliver Robins, who played Robbie Freeling, and began choking him. When Robins protested that he could not breathe, producer Steven Spielberg initially thought he was improvising his struggle. Spielberg recognized the danger when Robins began changing color and rushed in to free him.
