Mezzanine Becomes DNA Spray-Paint Album

The first album released with its audio encoded in synthetic DNA was Massive Attack's Mezzanine. To mark its 20th anniversary in 2018, researchers compressed the album's digital audio and converted it into 920,000 DNA fragments stored inside microscopic glass beads. The DNA was then mixed into matte-black spray paint and released in limited-edition aerosol cans, each containing approximately one million copies of the album.
