Fawcett Expedition Reported Double-Nosed Dogs

In 1913, British explorer Percy Fawcett returned from an Amazon expedition with accounts of dogs that appeared to have two noses. People laughed at his story, and the double-nosed dog remained a cryptozoological animal until the mid-2000s. In 2005, English explorer Colonel John Blashford-Snell photographed a dog named Bella near the Bolivian village of Ojaki, then returned in 2007 and found her son Xingu with the same unusual nose. Known as double-nosed Andean tiger hounds, the rare dogs reportedly live only in Bolivia, where hunters use them to track jaguars through the Amazon rainforest.
