Dolly Parton Invested Whitney's Millions

In the 1990s, American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton earned an estimated $10 million in royalties from Whitney Houston's 1992 cover of her song "I Will Always Love You." She invested the money in an office complex located in a predominantly Black neighborhood in Nashville, Tennessee, explaining that she wanted to be among Houston's people, "who are my people as well." Parton affectionately called the complex "the house that Whitney built."
