Koreans Passed Through Four Armies

After the Utah Beach landings during the Normandy invasion, Lieutenant Robert Brewer of the 101st Airborne recalled capturing four men in German uniforms who were identified as Korean. According to the account later published by historian Stephen Ambrose, they had been conscripted by Japan, captured and absorbed into the Red Army, captured again by Germany, and finally taken prisoner by the Americans.
