In the first such disclosure by a reigning Spanish monarch, the reigning king of Spain from 2014, Felipe VI voluntarily revealed a personal fortune of 2.57 million euros, possibly making him Europe's poorest king. His declaration showed that he owned no property or land, kept no money abroad, and had no pension plan. About 2.26 million euros sat in bank accounts and investment funds, while jewelry, antiques, and artworks accounted for nearly 306,000 euros.
