Teenager Drove The A Train

On May 8, 1993, a 16-year-old boy named Keron Thomas posed as a New York City Subway motorman and took control of an A train. Over roughly three hours, he made 85 stops along the route and transported an estimated 2,000 passengers without incident. Near the end of his run, Thomas took a curve too fast and accidentally triggered the train's automatic emergency brakes. Unable to reset them, he required help from transit workers, setting in motion the discovery that the motorman was actually a teenager.
