Nigerian Americans Double Degree Average

People of Nigerian ancestry in the United States have exceptionally high educational attainment, with about 61% of adults age 25 and older holding a bachelor's degree or higher. The U.S. Census Bureau's 2008-2012 data put the national rate at just 28.5%, making the Nigerian rate more than twice as high. Among the five ancestry groups examined, Nigerians ranked as the most educated, and 52% of employed Nigerians worked in management, business, science, or arts occupations.
