Mussolini's Athens Coffee Stayed Frozen

During the Greco-Italian War, Italian dictator Benito Mussolini reportedly expected to reach Athens in just five days, calling it "a coffee walk." Instead, Greek forces counterattacked on November 14, 1940, forcing Italian troops to retreat. After 103 days of fighting, Greek cartoonist K. Bezos depicted a waiter telling an Italian, "Tell Mussolini the coffee he ordered in Athens is frozen."
