Moving Families Raised Children's Earnings

In the 1990s, the U.S. Moving to Opportunity experiment helped poor families relocate from high-poverty areas to wealthier neighborhoods. The move did not significantly increase the earnings of the adults who participated. However, children who moved at a young age eventually earned about 33 percent more as adults than comparable children whose families did not relocate.
