Wu Tang Faced FBI Scrutiny

From 1999 onwards for 5 years, the FBI and New York Police Department investigated American hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan as a suspected major criminal organization. Investigators attempted to build a RICO case connecting the group to alleged drug trafficking, murders, and firearms purchased through contacts in Steubenville, Ohio, before reaching New York. Despite devoting substantial resources to the investigation, federal authorities never charged the group and closed the FBI case in July 2004.
