Nixon Operatives Targeted Jack Anderson

In 1972, American investigative columnist Jack Anderson became the target of an assassination plot after years of exposing political corruption, including stories that enraged Richard Nixon and his allies. Nixon White House operatives G. Gordon Liddy and E. Howard Hunt discussed ways to kill or incapacitate Anderson, including poison and a plan involving LSD on his carโ€™s steering wheel. The plot never moved forward because the Watergate break-in soon exposed the same circle of operatives.
