Bull Sharks Occupied Golf Course

After floods near Brisbane, Australia, in 1996, six bull sharks became trapped in a lake on a golf course that had been connected to nearby waterways. The sharks adapted to the low-salinity environment and continued living in the lake for years instead of dying or escaping. Researchers monitored the unusual population and found that some of the sharks remained there until 2013. Their 17-year stay was described as the longest uninterrupted period ever recorded for bull sharks living in a low-salinity environment.
