After trying to conceive for 20 years, a couple endured multiple IVF attempts and surgeries without success. The husband had azoospermia, a condition in which sperm cells are extremely difficult or impossible to find in semen samples using conventional methods. Researchers used a new AI-guided robotic system that scanned about 2.5 million microscopic images from a single sample and identified the only two viable sperm cells hidden within it. Doctors used those cells for fertility treatment, successfully initiating a pregnancy.
