In 1993, a woman named Mary Ann Franco lost her vision after a severe car accident and also suffered a stroke. Twenty-three years later, she tripped over tiles in her Florida home, fell, and needed surgery on her spine. When Franco woke up after the operation, she could fully see again. Doctors could not fully explain if the fall or the surgery restored her vision.
