Wilfrid Laurier Rode Streetcars Daily

Canadian Prime Minister Wilfrid Laurier rode a streetcar to his office on Parliament Hill every day and spoke with other passengers to stay connected with everyday Canadians. Laurier was not wealthy enough to buy a home in Ottawa, so his supporters pooled money to purchase one for him. That house later became known as Laurier House.
