Juana Maria Lived Alone Eighteen

The Lone Woman of San Nicolas Island lived alone for 18 years on an island off the coast of California, from 1835 to 1853. She was later known as Juana Maria, and she was the last surviving member of the Nicoleno people. She was also the last known native speaker of the Nicoleno language.
