Blue Whales Defy Cancer Math

Blue whales have about 1,000 times more cells than humans, yet they do not appear to suffer from higher cancer rates. More cells should mean more chances for cancer-causing mutations, but large animals do not follow that simple pattern. Scientists call this mystery Peto’s Paradox.
