Maldives Banned Future Smokers

The Maldives became the first country in the world to enforce a nationwide generational smoking ban, barring anyone born on or after January 1, 2007, from ever buying, using, or smoking tobacco. The ban took effect on November 1, 2025, and applies to both residents and tourists. The country already had a complete ban on vapes and e-cigarettes for people of all ages.
