American voice actor Casey Kasem, the original voice of Shaggy Rogers in "Scooby-Doo," was a dedicated vegan and an outspoken critic of factory farming. In the mid-to-late 1990s, he quit voicing Shaggy after the show asked him to voice the character for a Burger King commercial. He returned to the role in 2002, but only after negotiating a condition that Shaggy would become vegetarian again.
