Fantastic Beasts Won Potter’s Oscar

The Harry Potter universe has received 14 Academy Award nominations across the wider Wizarding World films, but it has won only one Oscar. The original eight Harry Potter movies earned 12 nominations without a win, mostly in technical categories like art direction, visual effects, score, makeup, and cinematography. The franchise finally won in 2017, when "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" won Best Costume Design for American costume designer Colleen Atwood.
