Mr. Wizard Inspired Future Scientists

From 1951 to 1965, American television host Don Herbert taught children science on "Watch Mr. Wizard." The show became so influential that Rockefeller University reportedly found that about half of its applicants in the 1960s and 1970s named Mr. Wizard when asked what first drew them to science.
