The Office Reworked British Punchline

In the original BBC version of "The Office," British actor Ricky Gervais’s David Brent often used the double-entendre punch line “as the actress said to the bishop.” When the show was adapted for American audiences, the joke was changed to Steve Carell’s much shorter version: “that’s what she said.”
