Carol Burnett Received Lucy’s Goodbye

On her 56th birthday in 1989, American comedian Carol Burnett woke up to the news that her friend and mentor, Lucille Ball, had died. Later that day, flowers arrived for Burnett with a note that said, "Happy Birthday, Kid. Love, Lucy." Ball had arranged the birthday gift before her death.
