On August 25, 2001, American singer and actress Aaliyah finished filming parts of her "Rock the Boat" music video in the Bahamas and prepared to fly back to Florida. Aaliyah feared the small, overloaded Cessna 402B and refused to board, then took an unidentified pill with water before falling asleep and being helped onto the plane. The aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff, killing all 9 people on board, and investigators later found that it exceeded its maximum takeoff weight and carried one more passenger than it was certified to hold.
