Multiple astronomers reported seeing a moon orbiting Venus, a supposed object later nicknamed Neith, and sightings were logged dozens of times before they stopped by 1770. Astronomers failed to confirm it during the Venus transits of 1761 and 1769, and no modern observations or Venus missions have found any real moon there.
