The Moon only looks bright because it sits so close to Earth, but its surface actually reflects very little sunlight, making it one of the dimmest major objects in the solar system. If Neptune’s icy moon Triton replaced it in the same orbit, Triton would reflect so much more light that it would look about seven times brighter in our night sky.
