Japan Airlines Survivors Died Waiting

There were more survivors of Japan Airlines Flight 123 after it crashed in 1985, but rescuers spent the night setting up camp about 39 miles away because they believed no one had survived. The Boeing 747 crashed into Mount Takamagahara in Gunma Prefecture after suffering a catastrophic mechanical failure. Four people were eventually rescued, but later accounts said others had lived through the crash and died overnight from injuries and exposure.
