Kryptonite Gave Clayton Collyer Vacation

Kryptonite did not show up until about five years after Superman first hit comics in 1938. The writers introduced it on the "Adventures of Superman" radio show in 1943. They created it as a practical workaround so Clayton Collyer, who voiced Superman and Clark Kent, could take a vacation without stopping the series.
