Marc Okrand Built Klingon

Star Trek producers brought in American linguist Marc Okrand, a specialist in Native American languages, and asked him to invent Klingon. He built a full language with its own grammar and structure. Okrand even speaks Klingon himself, but he has joked that other fans have become more fluent than he is.
