Weapon X Meant Weapon 10

In Marvel’s later Weapon Plus mythology, the “X” in “Weapon X” was not just a stylish label for Wolverine’s torture program. It was the Roman numeral for 10, marking Wolverine as part of the tenth stage in a long line of super-soldier projects that Marvel later tied together under one umbrella. That same retcon also folded Captain America into the system as Weapon I, and that program also produced Sabertooth and Deadpool.
