Nick Fury Was Samuel Jackson

In 2002, Marvel writer Mark Millar and artist Bryan Hitch modeled the Ultimate Universe version of Nick Fury on American actor Samuel L. Jackson and used his likeness without asking permission first. Jackson later found out and came close to taking legal action over it. Marvel then offered him a deal: if Nick Fury ever made it to the big screen, they would cast him in the role. Jackson accepted.
