Jurassic Park Used Cretaceous Dinosaurs

Despite the title, the Jurassic Park movie built much of its dinosaur cast from animals that lived later, during the Cretaceous Period, rather than the Jurassic Period. Famous stars like Tyrannosaurus rex, Velociraptor, Triceratops, Gallimimus, and Parasaurolophus all came from that later age. Only some of its best-known dinosaurs, such as Brachiosaurus, actually fit the title.
