Three Hosts, Same Quayle Joke

In the mid-1990s, late-night TV ran on fast-moving headlines, and jokes often converged on the same targets. Conan O’Brien later recalled that on the same night, he, David Letterman, and Jay Leno all delivered an identical “Dan Quayle is dumb” joke. None of them had coordinated it or knew the others were doing the same bit.
