MythBusters Explosive Footage Destroyed

On MythBusters, hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman once tested a rumor that a widely available, everyday material could be turned into a powerful explosive. The result was so effective and appeared so easy to replicate that the team concluded it would be irresponsible to share the method publicly, so they destroyed the footage instead. Years later, when the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) asked the public for input on overlooked bomb risks, Savage contacted them to flag what the show had discovered and why it should not be publicized.
