Sunlight Triggers Sneezing Reflex

An estimated one third of humans sneeze when they look at the sun or another bright light due to a genetic trait called the photic sneeze reflex. Neurologists believe the reflex occurs because of crossed signals in the brain, where the optic nerve that detects light interferes with the trigeminal nerve that controls sneezing, triggering an unexpected reaction.
