Dr. Abid Hanson Flight Death

In 1998, Dr. Abid Hanson suffered a severe reaction to cigarette smoke on an Olympic Airways flight after his wife, Rubina Husain, asked three times to move him away from the smoking section. A flight attendant first said the plane was full and later said she was too busy, even though other seats were available. Hanson went into respiratory distress and died during the flight, and a court later awarded his widow $1.4 million.
