Actress Audrey Hepburn landed her first starring film role in Roman Holiday (1953). Actor Gregory Peck, who co-starred in the movie, insisted that Hepburn’s name appear before the film’s title in lettering as large as his own in the credits. Peck reportedly warned the studio that Hepburn would become a major star and that he would look foolish if she were not properly credited. Hepburn soon proved him right by winning the Academy Award for Best Actress for the role.
