Carol Burnett Family Guy Lawsuit

Actress Carol Burnett sued the creators of Family Guy after the show depicted a character resembling her cleaning the floor of a porn shop. Burnett argued that the parody damaged her image and misused her likeness. A U.S. judge dismissed the lawsuit in 2007, asserting that the First Amendment protected the depiction as parody. However, the judge also remarked that the character Burnett created in her own comedy work was far more creative than anything the Family Guy team had produced.
