Marilyn Monroe Childhood Piano Story

Actress Marilyn Monroe lost her childhood piano after her mother was institutionalized and she was sent to an orphanage. Years later, Monroe searched for the instrument and eventually managed to find and buy it back. In 1999, singer Mariah Carey purchased the same piano for $662,500. Carey later said she hoped the historic instrument would eventually be placed in a museum.
