Tilda Swinton Rejects Harry Potter

Actress Tilda Swinton turned down the role of Professor Sybill Trelawney in the Harry Potter film series. She declined the part because she opposes boarding schools on moral grounds. Swinton has openly criticized the British boarding school system and said she would not support it through her work. The role of Trelawney ultimately went to actress Emma Thompson.
