Stoats Mate at Fifteen Days

Female stoats can become reproductively mature at just 15 days old, while they are still blind and suckling from their mother. Adult male stoats will mate with these extremely young females. The fertilized eggs then undergo delayed implantation and remain dormant for months. The females later give birth the following year after reaching full maturity.
