Charles Dance’s 19th-Century Father

English actor Charles Dance was born in 1946, but his family history stretches back much further than most people expect. His father, Walter Dance, was born in 1874 and served in the Second Boer War, which began in 1899. Dance also had an older half-sister who was born in 1898.
