On December 30, 1999, former Beatle George Harrison and his wife, Olivia, were attacked in their home in England. An intruder named Michael Abram broke into the house and stabbed Harrison multiple times during the struggle. Harrison suffered about 40 stab wounds, with one blade narrowly missing his heart. Olivia Harrison fought back with a fireplace poker and lamp, helping subdue the attacker until police arrived. Harrison survived after emergency surgery, while Abram was later found not guilty by reason of insanity and committed to a psychiatric hospital.
