American serial killer Bruce Everitt Lindahl murdered and raped women across the Chicago suburbs between 1974 and 1981, with three murders confirmed and more than a dozen suspected. On April 4, 1981, in Naperville, Illinois, Lindahl lured 18-year-old Charles “Chuck” Huber Jr. to an apartment and attacked him with a knife. During the struggle, the victim fought back, causing Lindahl to stab himself in the thigh and sever his femoral artery, which led to rapid blood loss. Both men died at the scene, and investigators later realized the serial killer had accidentally killed himself while committing the murder.
