Ed Gein Inspired Horror Films

American serial killer Ed Gein shocked investigators in 1957 in Plainfield, Wisconsin, after police discovered the bodies of murdered women and disturbing human trophies inside his farmhouse. Gein had exhumed corpses from local cemeteries and fashioned items such as masks and furniture from human remains. The bizarre crimes inspired elements of several famous horror films, including Psycho (1960), The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), and The Silence of the Lambs (1991).
